Since coming to the south from New York, it seemed to me that chicken was the main staple food. Influenced by Egyptian sculpture, these American Icons are idolized.

Inspiration for this piece came while traveling out west in the four corners area: Utah; New Mexico; Arizona and Colorado. I combined my experiences in a ghost/body representing mountains that were once lush; adobe homes; caves; Bryce canyon towers and the feather symbolizing the Indians that first inhabited the land.

Thrown and altered porcelain, clear glaze and paint.

I wanted to catch the dancing flow of sea anemone tentacles in moving water and their mesmerizing rhythms. The males have blue tips, the females; pink. The small one in the middle is the baby boy, the parents in back, the eldest daughter at daddy's side and the rebellious teenage daughter down in front.
